Artist's impression representing our nearby clusters of galaxies, seen here as white haloes. The Milky Way galaxy belongs to the Local Group which is situated in the middle of the picture on the far right side. Virgo Cluster, our major nearby cluster, is visible on the far left side of the artwork at a distance of 50 million light years away from the Milky Way. The Virgo cluster is considered to be the centre of the "Local Supercluster" of galaxies which includes our Local Group.
