Creation. Conceptual artwork of two hands and a flash of light, representing the creation of the universe by divine means. The hands idea is also seen in Michelangelo's painting The Creation of Adam. This painting is on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City, Rome, Italy, and represents the story of the creation of Adam by God in the Judeo-Christian religion. The Genesis story in the Bible includes God's words: "Let there be light". Scientists believe that the universe formed some 13.7 billion years ago, and that some 300,000 years later it had cooled enough to become transparent to light. The cause of the origin of the universe is still uncertain.
