Wide-angle view of the mission control room at Johnson Space Centre, Houston, Texas, photographed on February 7th 1984 during the shuttle mission 41-D. Scientists in the control room are watching Bruce McCandless's historic ride in the Manned Manoeuvring Unit (MMU), the first ever non- tethered "walk" in space. Captain McCandless is displayed suspended above the earth on the large monitor screen at front and on individual monitors in foreground.
