Genesis 2 space habitat launch, from the Yasny space centre, in the Orenburg region of Russia. Genesis 2 is an experimental unmanned inflatable space habitat. Once deployed and inflated, cameras and sensors are used to monitor it and carry out tests. The deflated habitat is in the upper stage, sitting on top of the rocket below it. The rocket used here is a converted RS-20 Voyevoda (SS-18 Satan) intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), used as part of the Dnepr program. ICBMs were originally intended for used in nuclear warfare. Photographed on 28 June 2007.
