First American space walk, Ed White, 1965. Gemini-Titan 4 astronaut Edward H. White during extravehicular activity, June 3-7 1965. All astronauts from the Gemini missions wore the Gemini spacesuit, made by the David Clark Company. These suits were modified versions of the high altitude suits worn by test pilots. The suits are connected by tubes to a life support oxygen and pressure pack.
