Astronaut on the Moon. Mission commander David Scott photographing a geological find on the lunar surface. He is 100 metres (m) up the flank of the Hadley Delta mountain, which rises to over 3500 m above the Moon's surface. Behind Scott (centre right) the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) can be seen. This 4-wheel drive electrical vehicle was used for the first time on the Moon, and covered a total of 28 kilometres. Photographed during the Apollo 15 mission of 1971 (26 July to 7 August).
