The five crew members of Shuttle Mission STS-38 inside the Shuttle Mission Simulator during training at the Johnson Space Center, Houston, in September 1990. They are (left to right); Frank L Culbertson, pilot; Carl J Meade, mission specialist, Robert C Springer, mission specialist; Charles D Gemar, mission specialist; and Richard O Covey, mission commander. Mission STS-38 was launched in Shuttle Atlantis on 15th November 1990 carrying a payload for the US Department of Defense. The crew returned safely on 20th November 1990.
