One of the two solid booster rockets veers out of control following the explosion that destroyed the space shuttle Challenger on January 28, 1986. The disaster occurred 73 seconds after lift-off as a result of a failure of one of the O-rings in a seal on one of the booster rockets. A subsequent leakage of fuel triggered the explosion which killed all seven crew members. Picture ref.
