Space Shuttle Endeavour landing on 21st August 2007, at runway 15 at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, after mission STS-118. The Space Shuttle is a reusable spacecraft that ascends to orbit using rockets, and then glides back to the ground after re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. The drag chute behind the spacecraft is being used to slow it after its landing. Mission STS-118 (8th to 21st August 2007) was part of the ongoing construction and maintenance of the International Space Station (ISS) in Earth orbit.
