Ashby (pilot) and Catherine G. Coleman. Hawley and Coleman are both mission specialists, while Tognini is a specialist representing France's Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES). The main purpose of mission STS- 93 was to deploy the Chandra X-ray Observatory, the most powerful X-ray telescope ever built.
