Yuri Gagarin's descent module, known as Charik or "little ball", on April 12, 1961, at the end of the first manned spaceflight. Gagarin made one complete revolution round the Earth in the Vostok 1 spacecraft. The flight lasted 108 minutes, and Gagarin landed only six miles from the calculated point. Charik weighed 2400 kilograms and measured 2. Gagarin was killed while testing an aircraft on March 27, 1968.
