Space tourists. Conceptual computer artwork of spaceboarders outside a space hotel orbiting Earth with the moon in the background. The hotel is constructed from used shuttle fuel tanks, connected together with a central core for docking with. NASA's space shuttle was designed to be reusable, with the exception of the fuel tanks that power the shuttle into orbit. They fall back to Earth, burning up in the atmosphere. However, they could be kept in orbit and fitted out as a hotel. Wealthy tourists of the future might be able to stay in such accommodation, and try out activities such as space walking or spaceboarding.
