Waste-burning power station. Rubbish at the base of a smokestack for a waste-burning power station. The waste is sorted and suitable components are incinerated to generate electricity. This is the Bolton Refuse Incinerator, Bolton, England. It was built in 1971 and converted to a waste-to-energy (WTE) power generator in 2000.
