Gas power station. View of the Deeside gas-fired power station in North Wales. The electrical equipment (centre left) feeds generated electricity from the power station into a pylon (far left). This and other pylons then distribute the electricity to local substations. This is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station. The gas is heated and compressed, and forced through a turbine. This generates electricity. The hot exhaust gases are then used to boil water, and the resulting steam passed through another turbine. This is a very effective and efficient process. This power station produces 460 megawatts.
