Gas fuel compressor plant. Turbines used to compress the fossil fuel natural gas. This is compressed after it has been extracted from the ground, allowing it to be piped to cities and factories. This is the Pisarevka compressor plant, owned by the Russian energy company Gazprom. As of 2006, Gazprom is the world's biggest extractor of natural gas, controls the world's third largest reserves of fossil fuels, and is the third largest corporation in the world.
