Gazprom control room. Computerised dispatch control room of the Russian natural gas company Gazprom. The large screen shows its network of pipes distributing natural gas from Russia into Europe's network of oil and gas pipelines. The western part of Russia is at upper right (black). The clocks (upper left) show the times in three different time zones. As of 2007, Gazprom is the largest company in Russia, and the word's biggest extractor of natural gas. Its main reserves are in Siberia, the Urals and the Volga region. Gazprom supplies around a quarter of the European Union's natural gas supplies. The Gazprom network is the longest in the world, with over 150,000 kilometres of pipes. Photographed in Russia in 2006.
