Aerial view of part of the Trans-Alaskan Oil Pipeline. The pipeline runs from Prudhoe Bay on the north coast to Valdez on the southern coast, a distance of 1,284km. The pipeline is 1.21m in diameter, and can transport 2 million barrels (318 million litres) of crude oil per day. In this view, the pipeline passes across the Alaskan Arctic tundra.
