Biomass-fired power station. External view of the Wheelabrator power station which generates elec- tricity by burning wood residues from forest clearance & agricultural waste. The heat generated by burning the biomass is used to boil water. The steam produced then drives turbines to produce 49 megawatts of electricity. This power station is run by the Wheelabrator Shasta Energy Company in Anderson, California, USA.
