Offshore wind farm. Turbines of Britain's first offshore wind farm at sunrise. Each of these two Vestas V66 turbines has a capacity of around 2 megawatts; together they can generate enough power to supply 3000 households. This offshore wind farm is situated 1 kilometre off the coast of Blyth, Northumberland. It began generating electricity in October 2000.
