The Central Receiver Test Facility (CRTF), an experimental solar power station located near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The CRTF consists of a central receiver tower surrounded by an array of heliostats - large mirrors mounted on moveable frames that track the sun and concentrate its light onto a boiler mounted on the tower. Water circulating through the boiler would be converted to steam that might be used to drive a turbine to generate electricity.
