Solar power. Dish-shaped reflector that generates electricity from sunlight. It is comprised of ind- ividual mirrors which focus incoming solar radia- tion onto a thermoelectric generator (at upper right) which converts the heat of the Sun into electricity. A computer steers the dish to improve the efficiency of the dish by ensuring that it faces the Sun throughout the day. This dish was used to generate electricity at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the USA.
