Rooftop solar heat collectors (large black panels, lower centre) on houses in London, England. The solar heat collectors are using the heat in sunlight to heat water supplies for the houses. This saves energy and reduces heating costs. It also avoids the use of power-generation methods that produce pollution, such as burning fossil fuels. This is the Highlands solar housing project, in Crouch Hill, Islington, London, UK. This housing project was completed in 1985.
