Two goats tethered on the deck of a ship moored at Bikini Atoll prior to the test detonation of an atomic bomb. The goats were used to investigate the effects of the bomb on living creatures. The test occurred at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Marshall Islands, on July 1st, 1946 (codenamed: "Able Day") and formed part of a series of atomic tests code-named "Operation Crossroads".
