Caption

Nuclear decontamination workers removing their radiation protection suits after carrying out sandblasting work at a radioactive nuclear site. The breathing apparatus and some of the clothing can be cleaned and reused, while contaminated items are disposed of as radioactive waste. The workers will undergo a thorough check to make sure they have not been contaminated by any radioactive material. The check includes a recording of the reading of their dosimeters (one seen at bottom centre on chest). Photographed at the French nuclear research centre at Fontenay-aux-Roses, France.
