Power station. View of the Drax coal-fired power station, Yorkshire. Drax is the largest-capacity power station in the UK. It has six sets of boilers and generators, each producing 660 megawatts (MW) peak power. Drax is also fitted with extensive pollution control technology, including improved combustion technologies and flue-gas desulphurization (FGD) equipment. The full 3,960 MW output was first achieved in 1987.
