Eurobot space robot design. Robotics engineer using computers while testing the arm mechanics of Eurobot, a project of the European Space Agency (ESA). Eurobot, which has been in development since 2003, is a robot that is being designed to carry out some of the tasks currently done by human astronauts. The robot has three arms which are multi-jointed, making it more flexible than a human. Trials of the robot were carried out at the water tank at the EAC (European Astronaut Centre) in 2007. Eurobot's development and design is being co-ordinated at the ESTEC centre in the Netherlands, where this photograph was taken.
