Domestic robot. Helpmate domestic robot navigates its way across the road of a hospital. The Helpmate moves around independently. After its departure point and destination have been programmed into it using a simple keyboard, the robot uses a map of the building stored in its memory to determine its exact route. Any unexpected obstacles in its path can be detected by high frequency sound (ultrasound) sensors and a video camera. Doors and elevators can be opened and operated by radio signals from the robot. The robot be used to carry medical records, drug supplies, and food to patients. This robot can reduce the workload of medical staff.
