Caption

A push type assembly line at the Highland Park plant in Michigan. The above photograph shows a Model T engine being dropped into place by use of an overhead block-and-tackle. The picture was taken in early 1913 and it shows how the rear wheels were cradled in a three-wheel dolly which moved along a track on the floor. Cars were pushed from one station to another for assembling.
