Caption

Android robot. Female technician interacting with Cog, a robot android developed as part of artificial intelligence (AI) research. She is staring at Cog's visual systems. Cog, short for cognitive, can co-ordinate its hearing and visual systems to pinpoint a noise source. It can make eye contact with humans and track a moving object. This android can be used to study how humans learn through interactions with other people. From Cog, which is approximately human-sized, a baby- sized robot called Kismet was developed. Cog was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
