WABOT-1 robot. WABOT-1, the first biped walking robot. It has systems for limb control, vision and conversation. WABOT-1 has external receptors, along with artificial eyes, ears and mouth. Its hands have tactile sensors and are able to grip and carry objects. WABOT-1 was constructed at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, in 1973.
