Robocup 2003. Humanoid competitor in the 2003 Robocup competition. This is the Canadian Tao Pie Pie robot. The Robocup is an annual event in which teams of autonomous robots from an assortment of institutions play football against each other. This requires a high level of artificial intelligence. Humanoid robots have to be able to walk and take a kick. The aim of the competition is to develop a team of humanoid robots that can beat the best human side in the world by the year 2050. The cup has several leagues, including divisions for four-legged robots as well as humanoid (bipedal) robots such as this. The 2003 event, the 7th Robocup, was held in Padua, Italy.
