Humanoid robot skull, Diagram of a robot skull that will form the base of a robot Albert Einstein head created by US robot designer David Hanson. The skull will be covered with a spongy polymer called 'Frubber', which is light and flexible enough to be controlled by small servo motors within the robot head. The lines and arrows on the diagram indicate the pulling forces exerted by the motors on the frubber skin. The Einstein robot will also contain motion detecting and speech recognition sensors that send signals to an external computer running artificial intelligence software. The computer reacts by controlling 33 servo motors within the robot head which produce life-like facial expressions.
