Satellite stations. These large parabolic (bowl- shaped) antennae are used for sending and receiving signals to and from satellites orbiting the Earth. They can be turned to track a satellite as it moves across the sky. Satellites are used to transmit communications data, for astronomy, and to study the Earth. Photographed in Hong Kong, China.
