Simple electrical circuit as part of a classroom demonstration. The circuit consists of three cells (batteries, across top), which are powering the electric motor (bottom right). A resistor (black, left of motor) is being used to reduce the amount of electric current to a safe level, as shown by the digital ammeter (lower left). Crocodile clips and wires connect these components to complete the circuit. An electric motor converts electrical energy into motion. This is a 9-volt Lego motor.
