Nanorobots. Computer artwork of a nanorobot army and several cells. These microscopic robots are a future technology that could be developed to help treat diseases such as cancer. Numerous nanorobots could be made by other nanorobots using materials found in the environment. A danger is that such nanoreplicators may get out of control and convert the Earth's environment from biomass to nanomass. This is called the 'grey goo' problem or global ecophagy.
