Foglets, conceptual image. Foglets linking arms to eventually create a Utility Fog. A Foglet is currently a concept based around an artificially intelligent nanorobot with twelve arms pointing in all directions. At the end of each arm is a gripper so that many Foglets can grasp one another to form larger structures (Utiliy Fog). Once part of a Utility Fog, the Foglets can start to manipulate their properties using an 'antenna arm' that interacts with the micron wavelength region. This manipulation means that Utility Fog can create any visual, auditory or tactile environment desired.
