DNA switch, nanotechnology research. Researcher working with computer simulations of an electronic switch based on DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). This molecular switch, which acts as a nanoactuator, could provide an interface between living organisms and electronic devices. It consists of a strand of DNA anchored to a channel in a microchip, a magnetic bead and a biological motor. The biological motor is powered by adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
