Computer networking: computer graphics illustration of personal computers (PCs) linked to form a network. In computing, a network is one or more computers in direct contact with each other. In its most simple form, a network may consist of just two machines. Various physical configurations are used to join all the members of the network together; this topology may assume the form of stars, loops or trees. One example is a local area network (LAN), which might be a group of PCs linked together. One PC acts as a fileserver & controls the movement & sharing of files around the network.
