Computer hard disk and circuitry. Composite image of printed circuitry (closely-spaced lines) laid over a computer hard disk (circle, red). Computers store data on the magnetic medium of a hard disk. The hard disk rotates and a read/write head (green, upper left) moves radially above the disk to access all parts. An electromagnet in this head is used to alter the disk's magnetism, writing data onto it and reading data from it.
