Bar code. Abstract image of a bar code label (at upper centre). The bar code is used to label products and stores information such as what the product is or how much it costs. The data held within the bar code can be 'read' by a computer using a light source. If the computer is unable to read the code, the information can be manually entered into the it using the number code below the bar code. This computer storage of information makes stock control easier.
