Computerised clothing. Fashion models wear comput- erised "smart clothes" which contain devices that are linked to a portable computer. Information can be relayed to the wearer through earphones or by displays on the inside of the glasses. The compu- ter can use cameras in the glasses to recognise people that the wearer meets. Microphones in the clothes, aided by speech recognition software, can listen to a conversation. The computer can direct the wearer with the aid of a navigational sensor. The computers can also access the internet using radio links. These outfits were a collaboration between researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, & fashion designers.
