Millennium bug. Computer artwork representing the "millennium bug" as a beetle with a circuit board printed on its back. The beetle is climbing out of a broken computer monitor. Many computers only store the last two digits of each year on their internal calendars. The millennium bug theory is that computers may not understand the change of digits from "99" in 1999 to "00" in 2000. Computers may "think" it is 1900, or even crash, losing all data.
