Computer-aided design of a multi-layered "chip & wire" hybrid circuit. Hybrids are complex circuits consisting of a number of interconnected silicon chips, resistors, capacitors, & other electronic components mounted on a ceramic substrate. They are typically used as a part of complex electronic systems. In this computer graphic image of part of the design, five silicon chips are seen, their connecting wires giving them a spider-like appear- ance. The hybrid was designed at Welwyn Electron- ics in Bedlington, Northumberland, England.
