Nuclear dismantling robot training. Virtual reality training to familiarise an operator with a robotic arm used in the dismantling of nuclear facilities. The operator moves the robot arm by manipulating the arm-like controller in his right hand. The robot arm's actions are simulated by specially developed 3-dimensional (3D) computer programs and are displayed on a screen; the arm is white and the facility's structure is red and blue. The operator views the screen through coloured 3D glasses. The program also assists the operator by computing the best trajectory for the arm to avoid obstacles. This training increases the speed and safety of operations.
