Virtual reality glove. Gloved hand with mechanical sensors and servo-mechanisms mounted on it. This is part of a virtual reality (VR) set up, where a person interacts with a computer-generated reality for training or leisure purposes. The person will be wearing goggles that depict the environment in which they are moving, and the sensors (through the wires seen here) will add to the VR model. This would enable the person to 'see' their hands moving in front of their face, and to see and feel the effects of 'touching' an object in the VR model. Photographed at CIRA, the Italian aerospace research centre.
