Artificial intelligence. Conceptual computer artwork of a metallic human brain (side view) representing artificial intelligence (AI). The front of the brain is at left. AI is the ability of computers to learn and act independently of their original programming. The brain consists mostly of the cerebrum, its largest and most developed part. The cerebrum is responsible for intelligent thought, language, conscious movement and memory. The more primitive parts of the brain are the brainstem (protrusion at base of brain), which controls physiological functions such as breathing, and the cerebellum (small area at right of brainstem), which controls balance and posture.
