Caption

Hydrogen fuel sign describing the manufacture, delivery and use of liquid and gaseous hydrogen in low-emission vehicle engines at Munich airport, Germany. The hydrogen is burnt in a type of conventional vehicle engine. Although nitrogen oxides are formed during the combustion, and carbon monoxide is created from vaporized engine lubricants, the main product is water. The upper part of the sign explains how the gaseous hydrogen for buses is made by the pressure electrolysis of water. Liquid hydrogen for cars is trucked to a storage tank.
