Caption

Hydrodynamic aircraft test (Second of 3 images). Mid-point of a test of a model of the Future Supersonic Transport Aircraft (ATSF), Concorde's proposed successor, in a hydrodynamic tunnel. Streams of dye show the flow of water over the surface of the model, their colours showing their point of origin. The flow of water over the surface of the fuselage, such as the spiralling vortices over the wing, indicates what the air flow would be like over a full-size aircraft. Photographed at the National Office for the Study and Research of Aerospace (ONERA) in Chatillon, France. T612/158, T612/160).
