Aircraft assembly hanger. Close-up of a jet engine on an aircraft under construction. An access panel has been opened, showing the internal workings of the engine. Jet engines work by burning fuel and expelling the exhaust gases backwards, generating forward thrust. This nozzle is where the exhaust gases emerge at high temperatures and speeds. This is the Voronezh Public Aircraft Construction Society (VASO) assembly shop. Photographed in 2007 in Voronezh, Russia.
