Caption

Crash test dummy called EuroSID being inspected by a technician for a client. EuroSID (European side impact dummy), which is modelled on the average man, was designed to test safety in vehicle side impacts. It is made of a metal and plastic skeleton covered by flesh- simulating foam and plastic, with a PVC skin. EuroSID contains load cells to sense the forces and motions it experiences during an impact. Photographed at part of First Technology Safety Systems in Delft in the Netherlands, which calibrates new dummies, and refurbishes and recalibrates old dummies for the European market.
